Heterocyclic compounds play an important role in various areas, of these Imidazole is one of the versatile compound used in pharmaceuticals. It is planner 5-memebered ring containing two nitrogen atoms. Molecular formula is C3H4N2 and having amphoteric in nature. It is used for preparing various types of drugs. Imidazole is a building unit of many drugs. Imidazole and its derivatives acts as antifungal, anti-microbial, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-tubercular, anticancer, anticoagulants, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-diabetic, anti-malerial activity etc.
