Farmer community participation in the development of eden garden in west baumata village, east taebenu district, east nusa tenggara

Participation of farmers in development programs in agriculture is a very reasonable thing to do. Because with their participation, the program implemented can run as expected. Lack of knowledge of the farming community, to make optimal use of their potential. Like land and agricultural waste, here is the Regent of East Nusa Tenggara. Launched the Eden garden program and obliged every village in Kupang Regency to make the Eden garden in the village area to become a place of learning for the village farming community. The purpose of this study was to find out how the participation of the farming community in the garden of Eden. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, data collection is done by means of observation, documentation, and direct interviews with respondents at the research site. Data analysis used includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study showed that in the development of the Eden park, the farming community was very enthusiastic to become a member of the group and very well participated in each activity. Where for direction determination, each member provides input and suggestions regarding the type of commodity that will be sought. In assuming the responsibility of the cultivation activities carried out, they carry out based on the capabilities of each member. Then utilizing equitable development, existing facilities such as chicken coops, fish ponds and agricultural land can be used properly.
